Professional Speakers

Sometimes lessons are best taught by those with seasoned experience. Alpha Kappa Psi regularly has professional speakers come to UCF to share hard learned lessons and useful knowledge with the brothers and other organizations. We’ve had speakers from Google, State Farm, Chase, and The Orlando Magic. Pat Williams gave a speech about success and the habit of reading that brothers found to be most inspiring.

Corporate Tours

Alpha Kappa Psi focuses on the professional development of its brothers by continually interacting with professional organizations through corporate tours, professional speakers and coordinated network functions. Brothers get a chance to learn, with great proximity, how real world businesses operate.

Ever wondered how an elite military contractor does business in Central Florida? Lockheed Martin has opened their doors to the brothers of the Nu Chi to show them how business is done and what it takes to be a successful business leader.

The Orlando Magic

AKPsi often tours the TD Waterhouse Centre and gets the backstage pass to player locker rooms, game day operations, and the executive offices as well as the work that goes into marketing events at the downtown arena.

Mitsubishi Motors

Mitsubishi has supported AKPsi’s business adventures with open arms by giving detailed walk-through tours of their operating facilities and explanations of their marketing approaches. These were powerful demonstrations of how organized management can make a big difference.

 

Community Service

AKPsi also focuses intently on giving back to the community through organized events and activities as well as partnerships with existing philanthropies. We work with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life frequently.

Relay for Life

Every year we spend many nights preparing for Relay for Life every Spring. We’ve raised well over $2800 for cancer research and won “Best Site” for student organizations. AKPsi alumni have been responsible for organizing the events as well as several committees.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Ronald McDonald House is a charity that provides temporary residency for families with a hospitalized child. They provide a comfortable place to stay with reduced price or free food so that there is less to worry about when going through difficult times. Alpha Kappa Psi continually contributes to Ronald McDonald House by preparing and serving warm meals for these families.
